Internship Opportunity: Program Assistant

Program Assistant - Teachings In The Air


PHSA Youth Wellness Program: The Program Assistant will work with PHSA's Indigenous Youth Wellness team to support the development, implementation and evaluation of media-based wellness promotion programming for Indigenous men and boys across the province. This will include:

  • resource design
  • community engagement and group facilitation
  • social media management
  • video and audio editing

The Program Assistant will produce work supporting the implementation of upstream wellness and suicide prevention programs, such as Teachings In The Air, that are offered partly within an online environment, and in part within First Nations communities or organizations.

Skills

The successful candidate will have experience editing video and audio files alongside strong social media management and communication skills and will possess a strong understanding of contemporary Indigenous cultural, social and political issues. Experience working with men's groups and/or youth groups, and with reporting and working in a team-based environment will be helpful. Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite programs such as Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Audition and Premiere Pro (or equivalent) is an asset.

Term: Full time from February 2019 to May 1st, 2019, with the possibility of extension.


Pay: $18/hr

Location: Based at 601West Broadway, Vancouver
